The Spanish Society of Rheumatology (SER) has as a mission to work and relate actively and positively to all agents of interest in the field of rheumatology. To do this, among other activities, it encourages the study of rheumatic diseases-diseases of the musculoskeletal system and conjunctive tissue-develops work, studies and research projects in rheumatology and addresses the problems related to the specialty.
It also provides support to patients with rheumatic diseases through their relationship with associations that fundamentally integrate patients. In the teaching area, being carries out a large number of courses over all areas of rheumatology and celebrates two monographic symposia and one congress every year.
Currently, the SER represents about 2,000 professionals in Spain and maintains contact with regional rheumatology societies throughout the country.

La Sociedad Española de Reumatología (SER) tiene como misión trabajar y relacionarse activa y positivamente con todos los agentes de interés en el campo de la Reumatología. Para ello, entre otras actividades, fomenta el estudio de las enfermedades reumáticas –enfermedades del sistema musculoesquelético y del tejido conjuntivo-, desarrolla trabajos, estudios y proyectos de investigación en Reumatología y atiende los problemas relacionados con la especialidad.
Asimismo, brinda apoyo a los pacientes de enfermedades reumáticas a través de su relación con asociaciones que integran fundamentalmente a pacientes. En el área de docencia, la SER lleva a cabo un amplio número de cursos sobre todas las áreas de la Reumatología y celebra dos simposios monográficos y un congreso cada año.
Actualmente, la SER representa a cerca de 2.000 profesionales en España y mantiene contacto con las sociedades autonómicas de Reumatología de todo el país.
