Created almost 350 years ago by Louis XIV, the National Institution of Invalides (INI) is a reference establishment for medico-social care of the big wounded. Créée il y a près de 350 ans par Louis XIV, l’Institution Nationale des Invalides (INI) est un établissement de référence de prise en charge médico-sociale des grands blessés. Aujourd’hui, toujours fidèle à sa vocation initiale, l’INI est un établissement public à caractère administratif (EPA) placé sous la tutelle du ministre délégué auprès du ministre des Armées, chargé des Anciens Combattants et de la mémoire.
Sa vocation est d’accueillir en rééducation les blessés militaires ou civils, dans des conditions optimales de prise en charge du grand handicap. Afin de pouvoir mettre en œuvre le nouveau parcours de soins de l’Institution, des travaux d’infrastructure sont en cours de réalisation.
L’Institution regroupe un large panel de spécialités du secteur médical et paramédical : médecine physique et réadaptation avec un plateau technique moderne permettant une rééducation adaptée, soins de suite post-opératoire, unité sensori cognitive, hôpital de jour, chirurgie dentaire et imagerie médicale.
L’Institution poursuit au profit du patient, une démarche d’amélioration dans le domaine de sa prise en charge physique et psychique.
L’Institution s’inscrit également dans un travail de recherche technologique résolument avancée, grâce à son centre de recherche spécialisé en matière d’appareillage médical : le CERAH (Centre d’Études et de Recherche sur l’Appareillage des Handicapés).
