Founded in 1993 in Gyé-sur-Seine (Aube, Grand Est, France), the SOLER Group is one of the leaders in renewable carbon production, offering a unique and innovative technological solution to achieve global climate neutrality.
The SOLER Group is a French family-owned company based on a positive energy and environmentally friendly circular economic model.
It develops and operates biorefineries with a proprietary and patented technology that transforms wood – derived from the sustainable management of forests located close to its production sites – into biocarbon and biochar.
The SOLER Group supports the integration of sustainable forest management with the sustainable production of critical materials such as metal, steel, concrete... By producing naturally occurring carbon from sustainable forests for industrial purposes, the SOLER Group paves the way for new sustainable value chains that benefit both nature and industry.
Through various applications, the SOLER Group intends to reconcile the challenge of decarbonizing economic sectors with a high carbon dioxide emission (industry, construction, agriculture, etc.) with the challenge of protecting and enhancing forest resources, both in France and internationally.
The Group currently has 3 operational biorefineries in France (2 in Gyé-sur-Seine and 1 in Lacanau) with a capacity to produce 50,000 tons of renewable carbon per year, while supplying more than 20,000 homes with green electricity.

Le Groupe SOLER est une entreprise familiale française qui repose sur un modèle économique circulaire à énergie positive et respectueux de l’environnement.
Elle développe et exploite des bioraffineries avec une technologie propre et brevetée permettant de transformer le bois – issu de la gestion durable des forêts situées à proximité de ses sites de production – en charbon de bois, biocarbone, biochar et énergies vertes.
Le Groupe SOLER soutient l’intégration de la gestion durable des forêts avec la production durable de matériaux critiques tels que le métal, l’acier, le béton... En produisant un carbone d’origine naturelle provenant de forêts durables à des fins industrielles, le Groupe SOLER ouvre la voie à de nouvelles chaînes de valeur durables qui profitent à la fois à la nature et à l’industrie.
Par différentes applications, le Groupe SOLER entend ainsi concilier le défi de la décarbonation de secteurs économiques fortement émetteurs de dioxyde de carbone (industrie, construction, agriculture, etc.) avec celui de la protection et de la valorisation de la ressource forestière, en France comme à l’international.
Le Groupe possède actuellement 3 bioraffineries opérationnelles en France (2 à Gyé-sur-Seine et 1 à Lacanau) avec une capacité de production de 50 000 tonnes de carbone renouvelable par an, tout en alimentant plus de 20 000 foyers en électricité verte.
