Nantes − Saint Nazaire Port is a public enterprise corporation. The Port Authority works in partnership with the Region’s public-sector and private-sector stakeholders to deliver economic and environmental improvements on the Loire Estuary, on which the Port is located.
As an industrial facility, Nantes – Saint Nazaire Port provides the interface between land and sea, serving an entire Region and its economy. An international industrial and logistical platform, the Port is connected to several modes of transport, including sea, inland waterway, rail, road and air. Every year it receives close to 3 000 calls by merchant vessels, 1 200 goods trains and nearly 250 inland waterway barge convoys. For importing and exporting companies in the regions of Greater Western France, Nantes – Saint Nazaire Port makes available doorstep services that serve to optimize supply and distribution chains.
Nantes – Saint Nazaire Port is also a regional planner and developer. Working alongside public-sector players (Central, Regional and Local Government bodies, consular organizations, etc.) and private-sector players (industrial companies, port-based and logistics firms, shippers and so on), the Port Authority contributes to economic development and helps create wealth and employment. The activities at the Port of Nantes – Saint Nazaire generate 24 400 jobs* at some 500 establishments forming a single port and industrial complex.

Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port est un établissement public de l'État, chargé de mettre en œuvre les politiques publiques d'aménagement et de développement durables, en accord avec l'économie, l'emploi et l'environnement de l'estuaire de Loire, sur lequel il est implanté.
Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port est le 4e grand port maritime français et le 1er de la façade atlantique. Pour les fleurons de l’industrie française et les entreprises du Grand Ouest, il joue un rôle dans les approvisionnements et les expéditions nationales, européennes et internationales. Il contribue aux synergies d’acteurs et de compétences utiles au développement durable de ce territoire.
Plateforme logistique et industrielle internationale, il est connecté à plusieurs modes de transport : maritime, fluvial, ferroviaire, terrestre et aérien. Il accueille chaque année plus de 2 300 escales de navires, 550 trains de marchandises et 30 barges fluviales.
Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port est également un aménageur du territoire. Aux côtés d'acteurs publics (État, collectivités locales, chambres consulaires...) et privés (industries, entreprises logistiques et portuaires, chargeurs...), il contribue au développement économique, à la création de richesse et d'emploi. L'activité du port de Nantes Saint-Nazaire génère 28 500 emplois* au sein d'environ 500 établissements formant un complexe industrialo-portuaire.
