Biotechnological platform for early detection of airborne viruses

VAir aims to revolutionize the detection of infectious hazards with a rapid, reusable, and cost-effective technology. The possibility of continuous detection of the viral load in the ambient air so that anyone in the vicinity could be alerted to the exposure to hazardous viruses before symptoms appear.

Our technology is based on the specific interaction between viral antigens and stable antibody fragments, known as nanobodies, which recognize and bind to their targets in the airflow, inducing a shift in the electromagnetic parameters proportional to the change in mass. Highly sensitive, low-cost, and wireless, we offer an alternative to the few existing analytical systems and conventional laboratory techniques that are bulky, expensive, and require qualified personnel to interpret the results.

Our technical concept has been discussed and endorsed by the public research community, and we look forward to developing it into digital bio-threat detection solutions for the public.
