Value proposition

We upcycle #SpentGrain from selected craft breweries in #Bangalore to make some "Good Flour".

At Saving Grains we are building a community centred approach to upcycle spent grain!

⚠️An average microbrewery uses 200 kg of grain to brew 1,000 litres of beer. There are at least 64 microbreweries in Bangalore city alone.
In the early stages of the brewing process, once the grain is "mashed" it's usually discarded by most breweries; in some cases it is used as cattle feed, but there is no system to capture this waste streams.

⚠️In our cities many so called "nutritious" food products are unaffordable
New products that aim at delivering high nutrition are not built around communities that need it the most.

⚠️"Sustainable" food systems are considered inaccessible
Spaces that are creating value for both "people and the planet" are not participatory.
