AMREF is the largest international health organization and completely African management. The name AMREF corresponds to the acronym in English of African Medical and Research Foundation (African Foundation for Medicine and Research).
Amref's human team consists of 670 professionals on the ground (97% of them Africans), who work in the offices of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Senegal, Guinea Conakry Sur Sudan and South Africa. There they are gestated, directed, analyzed and executed all projects.
This network is supported by 9 offices in Europe (among which is the Spanish: Amref Salud Africa), the United States and Canada. Its objective is to contribute to the financing of the projects and transmit to our society the health reality of the continent.
Our projects focus on:

* Malaria
* Family Health, Maternal-Infantile Health, Women's Health
* Water and sanitation
* Training of local health personnel and medical manual edition
* Medical Care and Training Service to Remote Rural Populations through the Flying Doctors
