Chemelot is zoveel meer dan alleen de naam van het grote industriecomplex rondom het kruispunt van de A2 en de A76. Circa 8.500 mensen werken op het terrein en nog eens een veelvoud hiervan is als toeleverancier verbonden met Chemelot. Van banketbakker tot schoonmaakbedrijf, van transporteur tot groenvoorziening.
Wij vinden het belangrijk dat omwonenden en andere belangstellenden weten wat we doen en hoe waardevol dat is. Je hebt vast zo'n 300 kilo aan producten thuis die gemaakt zijn met onze grondstoffen.
Chemelot is een chemisch industrieterrein van maar liefst 800 hectare groot in Zuid-Limburg. Uniek voor Nederland, dankzij:
de centrale ligging in Limburg, de goede bereikbaarheid per spoor, weg, haven, pijpleiding en vliegveld, de aanwezigheid van een groot aantal fabrieken die elkaar aanvullen, de centrale koepelvergunning en
de unieke samenwerking tussen fabrieken, research en development en pilot plants.
Het terrein biedt daarnaast centrale en gedeelde voorzieningen als nutsvoorzieningen, brandweer, onderhoud, een grote, professionele bedrijfsnoodorganisatie, infrastructuur en regelgeving.
