Domaine Castan is located in Cazouls-les-Béziers, a wine-growing village, in the heart of Hérault, near Beziers. Created in 1993 by our parents Monique and André Castan, Domaine Castan has been focused on sustainable development since its beginnings. Since the end of the 90s, André Castan has been involved in environmental initiatives and thanks to his efforts, was nominated farmer of the year in 2001. Pioneer of High Environmental Value certification in Hérault obtained in 2014, followed in 2016 by the conversion to organic farming and certification in 2020. Our determination invites us to go ever further. We have also implemented processes from regenerative agriculture such as plant covers which protect our soils, the planting of trees and hedges to attract auxiliary flora and fauna conducive to the development of biodiversity and the protection of the landscape. with the maintenance of dry stone walls.
Domaine Castan is 40 hectares of vines and 80 acres of olive trees located on 4 different terroirs including rolled pebbles, loamy soils, white soils and clay-limestone. Our particularity is the mosaic of plots which offer us a rich palette for the production of our wines from 14 grape varieties.
We currently produce 17 vintages; all unique and typed in 3 different ranges.
Domaine Castan is located in a traditional Languedoc wine-growing structure from the end of the 19th century. We have succeeded in combining the traditional architecture of the buildings with modernity. A century-old winery, a warm and friendly shop with a space dedicated to tasting and a museum await you there.
The Emile Vignerons museum, our ancestors and an original place where there is a private collection of corkscrews, old tools from our father and donations, staged to take you on a journey through the seasons and understand all the trades from the independent winemaker.

Le Domaine Castan se trouve à Cazouls-les-Béziers, village vigneron, au coeur de l’Hérault, près de Beziers. Crée en 1993 par nos parents Monique et André Castan, le Domaine Castan se tourne depuis ses débuts vers le développement durable. Dès la fin des années 90, André Castan s’ engage dans des démarches environnementales et grâce à ses efforts, a été nominé agriculteur de l’année en 2001. Pionnier de la certification Haute Valeur Environnementale dans l’Hérault obtenue en 2014, s’en suit en 2016 la conversion vers l’agriculture biologique et la certification en 2020. Notre détermination nous invite a aller toujours plus loin. Nous avons aussi mis en place de procédés issus de l’agriculture régénérative comme les couverts végétaux qui protègent nos sols, la plantation d’arbres, de haies pour attirer la flore et la faune auxiliaire propice au développement de la biodiversité et la protection du paysage avec l’entretien de mur en pierres sèches.

Notre particularité est la mosaïque de parcelles qui nous offrent une palette étoffée pour l’élaboration de nos vins à partir de 14 cépages.
Nous produisons actuellement 17 cuvées; toutes uniques est typées dans 3 gammes différentes.
Le Domaine Castan est installé dans une structure viticole languedocienne traditionnelle de la fin du 19eme siècle. Nous avons réussi à allier l’architecture traditionnelle des bâtiments à la modernité. Un chai centenaire, une boutique chaleureuse et conviviale avec un espace dédié à la dégustation et un musée vous y attendent.
Le musée des Emile Vignerons, nos aïeux et un lieu original où se retrouvent une collection privée de tire-bouchons, d’outils anciens de notre père et des dons, mis en scène pour vous faire voyager au fil des saisons et comprendre tous les métiers du vigneron indépendant.
