Pour siroter son jus de fruit ou son cocktail, la paille est devenue une vieille habitude bien plus qu’une nécessité. À tel point qu'aux Etats-Unis, chaque jour 500 millions de pailles sont consommées - assez pour faire deux fois et demi le tour de la planète.
Les pailles en plastique jetables, à utilisation unique, ne disparaissent pas dans la nature. Leur petite taille les rendant difficilement recyclables, elles font partie des 8 millions de tonnes de plastique déversées dans les océans chaque année - soit l’équivalent d’une benne à ordures de plastique déchargées chaque minute - et des 5 déchets les plus ramassés sur les plages françaises.
La vidéo d'une paille en plastique retirée du nez d’une tortue marine a fait le tour de la planète. Cette triste image porte un message important: Il est encore temps d’agir. Il ne tient qu’à nous de changer nos habitudes. Des alternatives au plastique existent : en bambou, en inox, ou en carton.
Mobilisons-nous ensemble contre la pollution!
La France, membre de la campagne des Nations Unies #OcéansPropres, s’est engagée à devenir “une nation de l’excellence environnementale” et interdira les gobelets, verres et assiettes jetables en plastique, ainsi que les cotons tiges en plastique, d’ici 2020. A chaque niveau, nous pouvons agir:
