Air Pollution – the facts
According the The Lancet Report (Commission on Pollution, Oct 2017), 9 million deaths worldwide can be attributed to pollution worldwide in 2015.

That is more than the population of Scotland and Wales. In one year.

Of these deaths, the biggest risk factor is air pollution, 6.5 million deaths. But what about even low levels of pollution? The BBC reported on 3rd August 2018:

“Regular exposure to even low levels of air pollution may cause changes to the heart similar to those in the early stages of heart failure, experts say......This was despite the fact people in the study were exposed to pollution levels below the UK guidelines.”

How does AirSensa create change?

We create urban sensor meshes of hundreds or even thousands of sensors to monitor air quality. By connecting this to our software platform STORRM, we create real time, hyper - local, granular readings of air pollution. This means that for the first time, not only can we measure what is really happening, we can identify hot-spots and create meaningful plans to reduce pollution.
