Description
  • Value proposition

[Automatic translation follows] A leading center for fundamental interdisciplinary Research in Biology (CNRS / University of Paris)

The Jacques Monod Institute (IJM) is one of the main poles of basic research in biology in the Paris region.

The IJM is a mixed research unit (UMR7592) of the CNRS and the University of Paris Cité. It includes around thirty teams carrying out research according to 3 research themes (genome and chromosomes, cell dynamics and signaling, development and evolution) and 2 transversal axes (quantitative biology and modeling, molecular and cellular pathologies). Interdisciplinary research, at the interface of physics, mathematics, chemistry and medicine, is strongly encouraged there.

The Institute is installed in the Buffon building on the new University of Paris campus, in Paris Rive Gauche, and brings together approximately 300 people (researchers, teacher-researchers, engineers, technicians, administratives, post-doctorants, French and foreign students and visitors).
    Director: Michel Werner, research director
Deputy Director: Valérie Doye, research director
    Secretary General: Christine Bénichou.

The Institut Jacques Monod (IJM) is one of the Main Centers for Basic Research in Biology in the Paris Region in France. It Funded Jointly by the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research) and the University of Paris Cité.

There are 3 On-Going Research Topics (Genome and Chromosome Dynamics, Cellular Dynamics and Signaling, Development and Evolution) and 2 Main transverse Axes (Quantitative Biology and Modeling, Molecular and Cellular Pathologies). Researches at the interface of biology with physics, mathematics, computer scientists, chemistry and medicine are strongly encouraged.

A leading center for fundamental interdisciplinary research in biology (CNRS / Université de Paris)
