Description
  • Value proposition

[Automatic translation follows] So that no one has to choose between eating or taking care of themselves

Since 2000, the Fondazione Banco Farmaceutico ETS has been collecting and recovering medicines (about 1.5 million per year - both over-the-counter and prescription-only) to donate to over 1,700 charities that offer free social and health care to the needy.

It does so mainly through 3 activities:

    DRUG COLLECTION DAY
On the second Saturday of February each year, over 18,000 volunteers in more than 4,500 pharmacies that participate in the initiative invite customers to donate one or more medicines to local charities.

    COMPANY DONATIONS
Thanks to its collaboration with over 60 pharmaceutical companies, Banco Farmaceutico is able to guarantee charities a supply of medicines (self-medication, prescription-only, supplements and aids) all year round. 100 large healthcare facilities benefit from the donations.

Corporate donations are managed through the BFResearch (BFR) association. Entrusting the procedures to BFR, which has the necessary know-how to manage them, brings numerous benefits to companies:

    - tax benefits: the donation is not considered a "transfer" for tax purposes, therefore it does not generate revenue, thus allowing the company to deduct all costs for VAT purposes (2018 budget law)
    - strengthening of reputation
    - savings on destruction, storage and administrative costs
    - promotion of the recovery and donation of pharmaceutical products for social solidarity purposes
    - limitation of negative impacts on the environment and natural resources

    RECOVERY OF VALID MEDICINES
In over 300 participating pharmacies, collection containers are positioned in which everyone, assisted by the pharmacist who guarantees the correctness of the operation, can insert their unused medications.

Recovery of pharmaceutical surpluses, Redistribution to charitable structures, non-profit, and fight against waste

Recupero eccedenze farmaceutiche, Redistribuzione a Strutture Caritative, non profit, and lotta allo spreco
