The National Guard was created on October 13, 2016 to bring together reservists from the Ministries of the Interior and the Armed Forces, who have become essential to the protection of our territory.
More than 5,000 reservists are recruited each year and today there are more than 7,000 reservists who are engaged daily in the field. 70% come from civil society and more than half have no military experience. More than 850 companies facilitate the recruitment of their employees as reservists with the National Guard. These companies make their employees available for the benefit of the operational reserve by making it easier for them to take paid days to devote to this activity. This allows employees to give additional meaning to their lives and benefit from useful professional training.

La Garde nationale a été créée le 13 octobre 2016 pour rassembler les réservistes des ministères de l'Intérieur et des Armées, qui sont devenus indispensables à la protection de notre territoire.
Plus de 5 000 réservistes sont recrutés chaque année et ce sont aujourd’hui plus de 7 000 réservistes qui sont engagés quotidiennement sur le terrain. 70% sont issus de la société civile et plus de la moitié n’a aucune expérience militaire. Ce sont des hommes et des femmes qui souhaitent s’engager pour protéger les français et renforcer la cohésion de la nation.
A ce titre tous nos réservistes sont rémunérés, obtiennent une formation et un contrat d’1 à 5 ans. Ils réalisent des missions ponctuelles, toujours en fonction de leurs disponibilités.
Plus de 850 entreprises facilitent l’engagement de leurs salariés en tant que réserviste auprès de la garde nationale. Ces entreprises mettent à disposition leurs salariés au profit de la réserve opérationnelle en leur facilitant la prise de jours payés à consacrer à cette activité. Cela permet aux employés de donner un sens supplémentaire à leur vie et de bénéficier d’une formation utile dans le cadre professionnel.
