Opération d’intérêt national (OIN), elle est menée par l’Etablissement public d’aménagement (EPA) Bordeaux Euratlantique créé en 2010. Avec une programmation exigeante de 2 500 000 m2 de logements, bureaux et équipements publics, ce sont à terme 50 000 nouveaux habitants et 30 000 nouveaux emplois qui sont attendus sur ce territoire au sud de la métropole bordelaise. Les représentants de l’Etat, les présidents du conseil régional de la Nouvelle Aquitaine, du conseil départemental de la Gironde et de Bordeaux Métropole et les maires des communes de Bègles, Bordeaux et Floirac, siègent au sein du conseil d’administration de l’EPA Bordeaux Euratlantique.
