Die Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler der Saar-Universität arbeiten eng mit den hochkarätigen Forschungsinstituten auf dem Campus und im Umfeld der Universität zusammen. Allein in der Informatik arbeiten rund 800 Forschende, in den Lebenswissenschaften (Medizin, Pharmazie und Biologie) sowie den Natur- und Ingenieurwissenschaften auf den Campus Saarbrücken und Homburg über 600 Forschende. Die Universität des Saarlandes bietet eine breite Palette an Studienfächern in sechs Fakultäten an. Es gibt rund 100 Bachelor-, Master- und Lehramtsstudiengänge sowie mehrere Staatsexamen-Fächer, 22 davon sind internationale Studiengänge mit Doppelabschluss.
