In the near future, meeting EU energy efficiency targets for both new builds and retrofits will be much easier to manage. Via smartphone or tablet construction professionals will access a virtual support platform hosting a variety of features and applications which facilitate worksite activities and quality compliance. The cloud based platform will provide installation guidelines, shared design specifications and 3D models, information on regulatory frameworks, help from other construction experts and much more. It will link professionals on and off-site, facilitate direct data transfer from the worksite to the office and reduce administrative burdens by automated data capture.

Built2Spec stands for "Built to specifications"​ and is an EU-funded project carried out by 20 European partners. The project, coordinated by the French institution NOBATEK, started in January 2015 and will last 4 years.
