WharfAbility is a network of networks founded in 2012 by a group of individuals involved with the disability and carer agenda within major firms across London.

Our mission within the disability and carer agenda is to connect businesses and colleagues to share experiences and ideas, enabling them to increase their impact in the work place.

The network formed original by 7 members came together in 2012 and were mainly focused around recruitment of people with Asperger’s Syndrome or High Functioning Autism. They held a monthly meeting and by mid-2013 had a name (WharfAbility) and a logo.

The group has gone from strength to strength, now extended to 30 companies, merged with another network, which was specifically for banks. The group’s principal aim is as follows:

    • Share research, learning, knowledge and “best practice”

    • Be an advocate for people with disabilities, long term health conditions, mental ill-health and their carers by raising awareness within our firms of those best practices as well as legislative requirements

    • Network cross-sector

    • Attend relevant events hosted by our member companies.
