    🌟 12th edition from April 11 to 15, 2023 at the Grand Rex! 🌟

    The origin of the festival is the film “8”, a feature film made up of 8 sequences directed by 8 major international directors: Jane Campion, Wim Wenders, Gus Van Sant, Gael Garcia Bernal, Abderrahmane Sissako, Mira Nair, Gaspar Noé and Jan Kounen.
    Each addresses a UN Millennium Development Goal (MDG).
    The MDG campaign was initiated by Kofi Annan at the United Nations in September 2000, where the 191 member governments committed to halving global poverty by 2015.
    Following the release of the film on the internet on February 5, 2010, more than 2,500,000 views were recorded in less than two months. Given the impact obtained, we decided to continue the adventure by creating the Le Temps Presse festival.
    The directors of “8” became juries and invited the public to give them their vision of the world.
    A concept emerged, that of passing the baton, represented by the trophy, but also a key phrase: “And you, how do you see the world today? »

    Today, the festival is centered around the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) campaign. 17 Goals were adopted by UN member states with the aim of “eradicating poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for all”.

    Our goals :
    -Highlight young directors active in responsible cinema, a cinema with a civic impact and a social, environmental and human commitment.
    -Raise awareness among a wide audience, particularly young people, including children and students, about the SDGs.

    Since 2011, Le Temps Presse, renamed Cinema for Change in 2021, has been part of a committed approach to citizen cinema. During these 6 years, the festival welcomed more than 1,300 young directors from 40 different countries.
    The objective is more than ever to highlight the work of these new talents by inviting them to share their vision of the world.

    L’origine du festival est le film « 8 », long-métrage constitué de 8 séquences réalisées par 8 grands réalisateurs internationaux : Jane Campion, Wim Wenders, Gus Van Sant, Gael Garcia Bernal, Abderrahmane Sissako, Mira Nair, Gaspar Noé et Jan Kounen.
    Chacun traite d’un Objectif du Millénaire pour le Développement (OMD) de l’ONU.
    La campagne des OMD fut initiée par Kofi Annan aux Nations Unies en septembre 2000, où les 191 gouvernements membres se sont engagés à réduire de moitié la pauvreté dans le monde d’ici 2015
    Suite à la diffusion du film sur internet le 5 février 2010, plus de 2 500 000 vues ont été enregistrées en moins de deux mois. Au vu de l’impact obtenu, nous avions décidé de poursuivre l’aventure en créant le festival Le Temps Presse.
    Les réalisateurs de « 8 » sont devenus jurys et ont invité le public à leur donner le vision du monde.
    En sont ressortis un concept, celui de passer le témoin, représenté par le trophée, mais aussi une phrase phare : « Et vous, comment voyez-vous le monde aujourd’hui ? »

    Aujourd'hui c’est autour de la campagne des Objectifs de Développement durable (ODD) de l’ONU que le festival s’articule. 17 Objectifs ont été adoptés par les états membres de l’ONU dans le but d’ « éradiquer la pauvreté, protéger la planète et garantir la prospérité pour tous ».

    Nos objectifs :
    -Mettre en valeur de jeunes réalisateurs actifs dans un cinéma responsable, un cinéma ayant une portée citoyenne et un engagement social, environnemental et humain.
    -Sensibiliser un large public et notamment les jeunes, dont les enfants et les Ă©tudiants, aux ODD.

    Depuis 2011, Le Temps Presse, renommé Cinema for Change en 2021, s’inscrit dans une démarche engagée pour un cinéma citoyen. Durant ces 6 années, le festival a accueilli plus de 1300 jeunes réalisateurs venus de 40 pays différents.
    L’objectif est plus que jamais de mettre en valeur le travail de ces nouveaux talents en les invitant à partager leur vision du monde.
