Et aussi de recherche et d’expérience destiné à accueillir des artistes de toutes disciplines, des démarches associatives et citoyennes, l’association Mains d’Œuvres, fondée en 1998, est installée dans l’ancien Centre social et sportif des Usines Valeo, un bâtiment de 4000 m2 aux abords du Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen. Le lieu a ouvert ses portes au public en janvier 2001. Ancré dans le territoire, en recherche permanente de croisements sensibles reliant l’art et la société, Mains d’Œuvres est résolument un lieu multiple, ouvert à tous.

Mains d’Œuvres veut induire d’autres possibles dans l’accompagnement des pratiques artistiques. C’est avant tout à travers un dispositif de “résidence” que Mains d’Œuvres accompagne les artistes et porteurs de projet dans leurs recherches. Outre la mise à disposition d’un espace de travail, l’accompagnement des projets est au cœur du dispositif, en trouvant des solutions humaines et logistiques aux projets et créations, dans un esprit de participation et de mutualisation.
