Since June 2, 2018, the Musée de la Romanité has been the new figurehead of the Nîmes cultural landscape.
Thanks to its ideal positioning in the heart of the city of Nîmes, its contemporary architecture interacting with the Arena which faces it and its exceptional archaeological collections, the museum is the essential stopover to understand the process of Romanization of the region and more largely the importance of Roman civilization in the Mediterranean.
From the Gauls to the 19th century, through the Roman period, 25 centuries of history are retraced through 5,000 pieces and 65 multimedia devices.
The temporary exhibitions remarkably complement the permanent exhibition by opening up to very diverse themes: Gladiators (2018) and Pompeii (2019).

Depuis le 2 juin 2018, le Musée de la Romanité est la nouvelle figure de proue du paysage culturel nîmois.
Grâce à son positionnement idéal au cœur de la ville de Nîmes, à son architecture contemporaine dialoguant avec les Arènes qui lui font face et à ses collections archéologiques exceptionnelles, le musée est l'étape incontournable pour comprendre le processus de romanisation de la région et plus largement l'importance de la civilisation romaine en Méditerranée.
Des Gaulois au XIXe siècle, en passant par la période romaine, ce sont 25 siècles d'Histoire qui sont retracés à travers 5000 pièces et 65 dispositifs multimédias.
Les expositions temporaires complètent remarquablement le parcours permanent en s'ouvrant à des thématiques très diverses : Gladiateurs (2018) et Pompéi (2019).
