Pour assister les décideurs locaux, les maires, ainsi que les présidents des établissements publics de coopération intercommunale (EPCI), des conseils départementaux et des conseils régionaux de recruter des Collaborateurs de Cabinet.
Au fil des ans, les Collaborateurs de Cabinet se sont professionnalisés. La fonction est devenue aujourd’hui un véritable métier. Elle nécessite de ce fait qu’ils puissent se rencontrer pour échanger leurs expériences, se former et faciliter les évolutions de carrière.
En 2015, au seuil d’une réforme territoriale sans précédent, les deux associations de Collaborateurs d’élus de la droite républicaine et du centre ARCOLE et COLLCAB décident de leur rapprochement et créent Dextera.
L’objet de l’association est de rassembler et de créer des liens entre les Collaborateurs de Cabinet des collectivités territoriales et organismes du secteur public, qui se reconnaissent dans les valeurs de la droite républicaine et du centre.
L’association œuvre pour la défense et la promotion du métier de Collaborateur de Cabinet et notamment l’amélioration de son statut.
Elle œuvre également pour faciliter l’accès à l’emploi de ses membres, organiser des actions de formation et toute autre manifestation permettant de développer les liens entre ses membres et de promouvoir leurs idéaux, dans un esprit de convivialité, de tolérance et de compréhension mutuelle.
