The result of collective work (Region, Departments, Agglomeration, IGN), the CRAIG is a resource center in the field of geographic information for regional public actors. As such:
- In conjunction with the IGN, it coordinates the production, acquisition and dissemination of reference geographic data. Support for the efficient implementation of public policies at the regional level, in accordance with Article L. 4211-1 of Law No. 2015-991 of August 7, 2015 on the New Territorial Organization of the Republic, it ensures the provision of services for all public actors in the region allowing easier access to data.
- It provides ongoing support to the territories by offering them privileged access to "Bases" data (land files, land registry, orthophoto plans, etc.), technical support, training and information sessions.
- When acting as the competent local public authority for underground network operators, the CRAIG ensures for its partners the development and maintenance of a very large-scale background plan, in accordance with the decree of 15 February 2012 relating to the execution of works near certain underground structures;
- In conjunction with the State, it contributes to ensuring that data complies with the regulations in force arising from Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2007 establishing an infrastructure for geographic information in the European Community (INSPIRE);Original language

Fruit d'un travail collectif (Région, Départements, Agglomération, IGN), le CRAIG est un centre de ressources dans le domaine de l’information géographique pour les acteurs publics régionaux. A ce titre :
- En lien avec l’IGN, il coordonne la production, l’acquisition et la diffusion de données géographiques de référence. Support à la mise en œuvre efficiente des politiques publiques à l’échelle de la région, conformément à l'article L. 4211-1 de la loi n°2015-991 du 7 août 2015 portant Nouvelle Organisation Territoriale de la République, il assure la fourniture de services pour tous les acteurs publics de la région permettant un accès facilité aux données.
- Il apporte un appui permanent aux territoires en leur proposant un accès privilégié aux données « Socles » (fichiers fonciers, cadastre, orthophotoplans ...) un support technique, des sessions de formations et d’information.
- Lorsqu'il agit en tant qu’autorité publique locale compétente pour les exploitants de réseaux enterrés, le CRAIG assure pour ses partenaires l’élaboration et le maintien d’un fond de plan très grande échelle, en conformité avec l'arrêté du 15 février 2012 relatif à l'exécution de travaux à proximité de certains ouvrages souterrains ;
- En articulation avec l’Etat, il contribue à la mise en conformité des données par rapport aux règlements en vigueur issues de la directive 2007/2/CE du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 14 mars 2007 établissant une infrastructure d'information géographique dans la Communauté européenne (INSPIRE) ;
