DWIH Tokyo is a platform for German Research & Innovation in Japan, promoting exchange in science, research & technology
The German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo) is a platform for German universities, research institutions and research-based companies in Japan. It supports knowledge exchange between Germany and Japan, communicates between actors of both countries and thus, creates the preconditions for research cooperation. To do so, it relies on its research-based supporters in Germany who facilitate and shape the work of DWIH Tokyo on site.
Throughout the year, DWIH Tokyo organises professional events on focal topics of innovation and research. By facilitating symposia, workshops, open lectures and science competitions, DWIH Tokyo promotes the exchange between German and Japanese players in science, research, business, policymaking and the interested public.
DWIH Tokyo belongs to a global network of five German Centres for Research and Innovation. Since its establishment in 2010, it has been supported by the German Federal Foreign Office. It has been coordinated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), since 2017.
The German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) Tokyo specializes in the internationalization of German research, technology and startups, focusing on strategic partnerships with Japanese organizations.
