Le Conseil d’État est un pilier de l’État de droit : il garantit au quotidien que l’administration respecte le droit et notamment les libertés fondamentales des citoyens.
➡ Il juge les conflits qui opposent les citoyens, associations ou entreprises à l’administration.
➡ Il fait des propositions pour que les futures lois et règlementations soient conformes au droit et applicables dans la vie quotidienne.
En parallèle, il gère les 42 tribunaux administratifs, les 9 cours administratives d’appel et la Cour nationale du droit d’asile qui forment, avec le Conseil d’État, la justice administrative.
