Outil d’ingénierie publique mutualisé, l’AUDAP a pour missions essentielles d’observer et de comprendre les évolutions urbaines et sociologiques des territoires adhérents, de réaliser des études thématiques (habitat, mobilité, économie,...), de participer à la définition des politiques d’aménagement et de développement et à l’élaboration des documents d’urbanisme et de planification (SCoT, PLUi ...).
L'équipe est composée d'une 40aine de collaborateurs aux compétences pluridisciplinaires (architectes, urbanistes, économistes, statisticiens...) et aux savoir-faire complémentaires (environnement, paysage, politique de l’habitat, des mobilités, développement économique, projet urbain, traitement et représentation de la donnée ...). L'AUDAP possède deux antennes l'une à Bayonne et l'autre à Pau. Le personnel est réparti sur les deux sites.
