Chips Joint Undertaking
Chips Joint Undertaking supports research, development, innovation and future manufacturing capacities in the European semiconductor ecosystem. Launched by the European Union Council Regulation No 2021/1085 and amended in September 2023 as part of the Chips for Europe Initiative, it confronts semiconductor shortages and strengthens Europe's digital autonomy, engaging a significant EU, national/regional and private industry funding of nearly €11 billion.

The AEIT and the Chips Mirror Group Italy, are organising an Information Day to present the Chips JU 2025 calls!

📹 Last plenary session of the #ECSBrokerageEvent with a presentation on Framework Partnership Agreements (FPA) and Specific Grant agreements (SGA).
Cecilia González Álvarez explained how these agreements work and their importance to implement actions for quantum chips technology. 💡
We heard from Berta Ferrer Llosa, Deputy Head of Programmes, about the Calls on Competence Centers launched by the JU
Some of the goals of the Competence Centres:
🔸Provide services in a certain technology or domain
🔸Facilitate effective use of capacities and facilities, including access to the Chips Design Platform and Pilot Lines
🔸Support interested stakeholders in developing semiconductor solutions
🔸Promote the Chips Fund and facilitate access to venture capital
Key information:
🔹27 competence centers from 25 countries
🔹Co-investment with member states
🔹Start date: as of 1st January 2025
❗️The Call for Competence Centres CC3 is still open until 4 March 2025. The countries that did not submit a proposal in the first call or competence centers are encouraged to apply.

📣 We are starting the morning of Day 2 at the ECS Brokerage event strong with Anton Chichkov discussing the ongoing activities of Chips JU in the ECS part of the programme and dives into the 2025 actions.
The 2025 Horizon Europe Calls have a total budget of €372 million (JU budget) ➡️ 7 actions.
The 2025 Digital Europe Programme Calls have a total budget of €70 million (JU budget) ➡️ 4 actions.
