The National Institute for Budget Information (Nibud) aims for a Netherlands without financial problems.

Het Nationaal Instituut voor Budgetvoorlichting (Nibud) gaat voor een Nederland zonder geldproblemen.
- We willen een maatschappij waarin mensen kunnen rondkomen met hun geld. We gaan voor veranderingen die mensen met financiële problemen helpen en die voorkomen dat mensen in financieel kwetsbare posities in de problemen komen.
- We doen onderzoek. We bieden actuele cijfers over hoe Nederlanders met geld omgaan en hun financiële mogelijkheden. We laten zien wat de effecten zijn van wetten, regels en beleid.
- We passen onze kennis toe in handvatten voor de praktijk. We werken daarbij samen met diverse partners in Nederland, met wie we onze ambitie delen.
- We signaleren ontwikkelingen die effect hebben op de huishoudportemonnee. We nemen stelling in het maatschappelijk debat als meer mensen in een financieel kwetsbare positie komen (één of twee stappen verwijderd van financiële problemen).
- We bewegen organisaties en bestuurders in Nederland om hun verantwoordelijkheid te nemen en hun invloed te gebruiken om te voorkomen dat mensen in een financieel kwetsbare positie komen of financiële problemen krijgen.
Bij het Nibud werken ca. 35 mensen verdeeld in verschillende teams: kennis, IT, opleidingen, licenties, uitgeverij en communicatie. Het Nibud-kantoor is gevestigd in Utrecht.
