Bluedrop Medical have developed a patented system to reduce the burden of diabetic foot ulcers.
There are currently almost half a billion diabetics worldwide and it has been estimated that up to 25% will develop a foot ulcer at some point in their life. Of the millions who develop ulcers worldwide every year, hundreds of thousands will require amputation due to infection.
Bluedrop Medical are combining detection technology with the internet of things, to create a connected health system capable of identifying ulcers early, where they can be treated more effectively and cheaply.
Evidence shows regular inspection of the feet can greatly reduce the risk of developing a diabetic foot ulcer (DFU).
