Fomentando las carreras STEM en niñas y adolescentes.
La iniciativa 11 de Febrero pretende fomentar la organización de actividades y materiales que conmemoren el día Internacional de la Mujer y la Niña en Ciencia. Nuestro objetivo es contribuir a cerrar la brecha de género que actualmente existe en el ámbito científico.
Las personas que formamos parte de 11 de Febrero somos mujeres y hombres que nos dedicamos a la investigación, la docencia y la comunicación científica en diferentes instituciones. Algunas de nosotras además formamos parte de organizaciones científicas, colectivos de divulgación, asociaciones de mujeres o comisiones de igualdad. En algunos casos, incluso presidimos estas organizaciones. Sin embargo, a 11 de Febrero nos sumamos a título individual.
Nos gustaría que esta iniciativa sirva para que otras personas, individualmente, o dentro de asociaciones e instituciones, incluyendo aquellas a las que pertenecemos, organicen actividades y contribuyan a visibilizar estas actividades. La participación de instituciones, asociaciones y colectivos quedará reflejada explícitamente en la difusión y menciones a estas actividades. De esta forma el esfuerzo de todas y todos sumará.
