With the ceasefire in #Gaza coming into effect, humanitarians immediately began dispatching urgently required supplies and expanding response efforts.
Restoring basic services, as well as upscaling the delivery of food, water, shelter and other vital resources is crucial. Needs are staggering amid utter devastation and we’re not wasting a moment. There's no time to lose.
Aid entering the Strip has increased, repairs to essential infrastructure are underway and fuel is being distributed. Debris management, retrieval of bodies, and addressing explosive hazards remain among key priorities.

Alarming update❗️
Internal displacement in #Haiti has now surpassed 1️⃣ million people amid an intensifying humanitarian crisis.
Children bear the greatest burden, making up over half of the displaced population.
The rapid increase throughout 2024 has put a significant strain on hosting sites — many of which face deteriorating living conditions, and lack critical access to essential supplies and services.
Despite challenges, humanitarian partners have been providing vital support to affected communities but needs are growing swiftly and additional funding is required to expand relief efforts.

UN Relief Chief Tom Fletcher participated in the World Economic Forum in #Davos this week to build new coalitions with the private sector, governments and international organizations to take up the challenge of supporting millions of people in need across the world.
"I’m in Davos because the millions of people facing crises need us to find new alliances, funding, ways to save lives," he stresses.
Private aid is the second largest humanitarian donor. But beyond funding, we need new alliances to find solutions to the complex challenges our world is facing.
