    Train through research and education decision-makers in Southern countries to membrane technologies for sustainable development around the water sector, but also agri-food, health and energy: such is the credo of the UNESCO SIMEV Chair since 2004. This label is granted by UNESCO for a period of 4 years (renewable) to university partnerships that support the objectives promoted by UNESCO.

    Tool of the National School of Chemistry of Montpellier and of the European Institute of Membranes, the first ambition of SIMEV is indeed to act as a catalyst which makes possible the emergence of concrete projects for southern hemisphere countries, built in close partnership with them (decision-makers and populations), through the aggregation of actors from the North who have chosen to invest in this development.

    Physical barriers that remove inorganic, organic, viral or bacterial contaminants, membranes provide a high-level guarantee against any form of water contamination.

    Former via la Recherche et l’Enseignement les décideurs des pays du Sud aux technologies à membranes en vue d’un développement durable autour du domaine de l’eau, mais aussi de l’agroalimentaire, de la santé et de l’énergie: tel est le crédo de la Chaire UNESCO SIMEV depuis 2004.

    L'UNESCO accorde cette labellisation pour une période de 4 ans (renouvelable) à des partenariats universitaires en phase avec les objectifs qu’elle promeut.

    Outil de l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier et de l’Institut Européen des Membranes, l'ambition première de SIMEV est en effet d'agir comme un catalyseur qui rend possible l'émergence de projets concrets pour les pays du Sud, bâtis en partenariat étroit avec eux (décideurs et populations), via l'agrégation d'acteurs du Nord qui ont choisi de s’investir en faveur de ce développement.
