The Greatest Multimodal Facility in North America

The Illinois International Port District (IIPD) is the largest multi-modal facility in North America, handling all modes of transportation except air. 6 of 7 Class I railroads reach the IIPD, along with 6 of 8 U.S. highways and 2 waterway systems.

Though not a container port, the IIPD houses bulk commodities, namely coal, cement, steel, salt, lumber, oil and sugar. We average approximately 16 million tons of inbound and outbound cargo annually.

The IIPD is also the Grantee of Foreign Trade Zone #22.
