Emile GORIN a créé la société TECHNISEM en 1985, avec pour but principal de mettre à disposition des producteurs africains des variétés homogènes, performantes et adaptées à leurs attentes.
TECHNISEM s’est rapidement démarquée de ses concurrents en se positionnant comme la première société semencière à s’engager dans la commercialisation de semences de qualité vers l’Afrique de l’Ouest. Proposer des variétés adaptées aux conditions extrêmes des zones tropicales est progressivement devenu une évidence et l’a encouragé à développer ses propres programmes de sélection. TECHNISEM a ainsi été la première société semencière à implanter une structure de recherche et de sélection sur le continent Africain (au Sénégal). Si une partie de ses programmes concernent des espèces mondialement consommées (tomates, choux, laitues, ...), elle attache une attention toute particulière à travailler et améliorer des espèces typiquement africaines.
