The Netherlands is world champion in making ultra-precise, high-tech machines and equipment. This high-tech equipment offers solutions for major social challenges such as the energy and climate transition, optimal healthcare, secure communication, and sustainability of the food chain.
With the financial support of the National Growth Fund, more than 330 partners will work in more than 60 projects on high-tech equipment that contributes to competitiveness and earning capacity in the Netherlands and works on solutions to major social challenges.

Examples:
Robotics and automation in agriculture and horticulture: sensor technology and fast and precise robots that contribute to a sustainable and hands-free food chain.
Health: production technology for new chips that enable miniature diagnostics ('Lab-on-Chip'), with which organs can be simulated ('Organ-on-a-Chip') or replaced (artificial organs) and the search for new medicines and therapies accelerate, where possible without animal testing.
Light materials: development of production equipment and automation solutions to create lightweight structures with innovative composite technology, for example to make transport (aviation, cars) more energy efficient.
Sustainable energy: development of an integrated and scalable production chain for fuel cells, hydrogen electrolyzers, batteries, and plasma conversion.
Laser communication: equipment for data communication via laser beams and satellites, energy efficient, safe, compact and with higher capacity.
Faster chips: development of equipment to make even faster and more energy-efficient chips that partly also switch with light, creating more applications, such as in the medical, food and safety fields.Original language

Nederland is wereldkampioen in het maken van ultra-nauwkeurige, hoogtechnologische machines en apparatuur. Deze hightech equipment biedt oplossingen voor de grote maatschappelijke uitdagingen als de energie- en klimaattransitie, optimale gezondheidszorg, veilige communicatie, en verduurzaming van de voedselketen.
Met de financiële steun van het Nationaal Groeifonds gaan ruim 330 partners in meer dan 60 projecten werken aan hightech equipment die én bijdraagt aan het concurrentie- en verdienvermogen in Nederland én werkt aan oplossingen voor de grote maatschappelijke uitdagingen.

Voorbeelden:
Robotica en automatisering in land- en tuinbouw: sensortechnologie en snelle en precieze robots die bijdragen aan een duurzame en handsfree voedselketen.
Gezondheid: productietechnologie voor nieuwe chips die miniatuur diagnostiek (‘Lab-on-Chip’) mogelijk maken, waarmee organen nagebootst (‘Organ-on-a-Chip’) of vervangen (kunstorganen) kunnen worden én de zoektocht naar nieuwe medicijnen en therapieën versnellen, waar mogelijk zonder dierproeven.
Lichte materialen: ontwikkeling van productieapparatuur en automatiseringsoplossingen om met innovatieve composiettechnologie lichtgewicht constructies te maken om bijvoorbeeld vervoer (luchtvaart, auto’s) energiezuiniger te maken.
Duurzame energie: ontwikkeling van een geïntegreerde en opschaalbare productieketen voor brandstofcellen, electrolyzers voor waterstof, batterijen, en plasma-conversie.
Lasercommunicatie: apparatuur voor datacommunicatie via laserbundels en satellieten, energiezuinig, veilig, compact en met hogere capaciteit.
Snellere chips: ontwikkeling van apparatuur om nog snellere en en energiezuinigere chips te maken die deels ook met licht schakelen waardoor er meer toepassingen ontstaan, zoals op medisch,- voeding,- en veiligheidsgebied.
