The IIAMA UPV (University Research Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering) was created in 2001 with a clear vocation aimed at technology transfer and collaboration with companies and public organizations, thus initiating an ambitious project based on a firm commitment of work to achieve recognition as a center of excellence.
In this sense, the Institute aims to show clear and recognized leadership, constituting a reference point to turn to when faced with specific technological problems related to Hydraulic Engineering and the Environment.
The Mission of the IIAMA is to promote scientific and technical research in a coordinated and multidisciplinary manner through the integration of different areas of knowledge, as well as to promote specialized teaching and technical advice on all topics related to water.
To achieve this, the IIAMA has a highly qualified staff of around 100 people, including Doctors, Professors, research and support staff, laboratory technicians and research fellows. Among their ranks there are Civil Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Agronomists, Computer Scientists, Graduates in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, etc.
All of them form a team oriented to work efficiently towards the search for results, and accustomed to collaborating with companies and public entities.

Buscando la excelencia en I+D+i en Ingeniería del Agua y Medio Ambiente
El IIAMA UPV (Instituto Universitario de Investigación de Ingeniería del Agua y Medio Ambiente) se creó en el año 2001 con una clara vocación orientada a la transferencia de tecnología y colaboración con empresas y organismos públicos, iniciando así un ambicioso proyecto basado en un compromiso firme de trabajo para conseguir el reconocimiento como centro de excelencia.
En este sentido, el Instituto pretende ostentar un liderazgo claro y reconocido, constituyendo un referente donde acudir ante problemas tecnológicos concretos relacionados con la Ingeniería Hidráulica y el Medio Ambiente.
La Misión del IIAMA es impulsar la investigación científica y técnica de forma coordinada y multidisciplinar mediante la integración de diferentes áreas de conocimiento, así como promover la docencia especializada y el asesoramiento técnico en todos aquellos temas relacionados con el agua,.
Para ello, el IIAMA cuenta con una plantilla altamente cualificada de alrededor de 100 personas, entre Doctores, Catedráticos, personal investigador y de apoyo, técnicos de laboratorio y becarios de investigación. Entre sus filas hay ingenieros de Caminos, Industriales, Agrónomos, Informáticos, Licenciados en Ciencias Biológicas, Químicas, Ambientales, etc.
Todos ellos forman un equipo de orientado a trabajar con eficiencia hacia la búsqueda de resultados, y acostumbrado a colaborar con empresas y entidades públicas.
