Maximum is a French manufacturer that designs and manufactures furniture from industrial scraps. The industry produces its waste in a serial and recurring manner, making scrap an ideal raw material. Since 2019, Maximum has been developing Tissium: a composite panel intended for construction and furnishing. Tissium is a rigid material obtained from disused clothing fibers. It can be machined with conventional tools and provides an outlet for the 600,000 tonnes of textile waste available annually on French soil. The project is currently on its way to a pilot unit capable of producing nearly 70,000m2 of panels per year from 2023.
