Espace Libre is a landscape design and urbanism office, founded in 1990. The office grew with a deep technical expertise profile (assistance to the contracting authority and design offices). Deep botanical knowledge and careful plant selection skills characterize the office work in the early years. Afterwards, the design skills were developed under the guide of M. Saïsse, which entered the office as a landscape designer in 2005. M. Saïsse acquired the company (SARL) in 2006, since July 2009 he leads the team. Since 2018, Johan Galhaut and Anaël Maulay, became partners of the company.
Today Espace Libre is an established landscape and urbanism office, whose diverse skills concern all the fields related to the open space design: urban transformation operations, public space design, roads and infrastructures, historic urban cores and squares, bike lanes, strolls, parks and gardens, playgrounds and sports equipment.
The team is composed by 11 people, in order to ensure the coverage of all the design phases and the construction site management, regarding landscape and urban projects. Thanks to the diverse professional background of the people involved, we can deal all the design scales with a strong versatility and adaptability.
The design approach aims at the valorization of the structuring features of the existing landscape, at the efficient connection between roads and the urban grids, at the definition of strong and unifying spaces, so that they can develop the attraction potential of the sites involved.
Landscape designers, engineers and architects share their knowledge at the office, in order to implement a global approach at the projects, to be integrated within the development process of complex territories. The versatility of the team allows the development of a contemporary and multi-scale design with the experience gained through years of successfully accomplished operations.

Atelier de Paysage et d'Urbanisme
Espace Libre est un bureau d’études et de maîtrise d’œuvre en paysage fondé en 1990. L’agence avait au départ une forte vocation technique. Elle a par la suite développé ses compétences en conception, notamment sous l’impulsion de Maxime Saïsse, dirigeant la société depuis juillet 2009. Espace Libre est aujourd’hui un atelier de paysage et d’urbanisme dont les compétences couvrent des domaines d’aménagements variés : restructuration urbaine, infrastructures et voiries, pistes cyclables, promenades, parcs et jardins, aires de jeux et terrains de sports. Son équipe, composée de 12 personnes, assure aussi bien la conception que la maîtrise d’œuvre et le suivi de chantier, en matière d’espaces verts et de VRD. L’atelier de paysage a une expérience diversifiée qui lui confère une forte polyvalence et une grande adaptation quant à ses aménagements. Il s’attache à mettre en valeur les éléments structurants du paysage déjà existants, à rendre fonctionnels les espaces tout en valorisant le lien social, à accompagner le travail du projet par une approche technique, à mettre en valeur des espaces forts et centralisateurs ainsi qu’à développer l’attractivité des sites aménagés. Paysagistes, urbanistes, architectes et ingénieurs partagent ainsi leurs connaissances pour une approche globale du projet qui s’insère dans le développement d’un territoire riche et complexe. Vers une écriture paysagère contemporaine et réfléchie à plusieurs échelles, la flexibilité et la polyvalence de ce regroupement permet une réflexion aboutie au travers de savoir-faire dans des domaines variés et complémentaires. Jusqu’alors située à Rouen dans le département de la Seine Maritime, l’agence s’installe en 2013 dans de nouveaux locaux sur la commune voisine de Bonsecours. L’agence agrandit son périmètre d’action en créant une agence dans les Hauts-de-France, à Lille (2017), une agence à Paris (2018) et une agence à Rennes (2023).
