Créée par décret du 25 Juin 2010, la Direction Régionale et Interdépartementale de l'Hébergement et du Logement manifeste la volonté de l’État d'adapter ses réponses dans les domaines de l’hébergement et du logement à la situation spécifique de l’Ile de France.

Héberger
Pour permettre de répondre aux besoins d’hébergement des plus démunis, la DRIHL pilote les politiques régionales d’accueil, d’hébergement et d’insertion en Île-de-France. Il s’agit d’offrir aux plus démunis les moyens de leur mise à l’abri en cas d’urgence et de veiller à leur orientation vers les structures les plus adaptées à leur situation.
Construire
Pour accroître la production de logements et ainsi réduire la pénurie, notamment pour les ménages les plus pauvres, la DRIHL pilote les politiques régionales de l’État pour l’habitat et gère, à ce titre, le budget en faveur du développement et de l’amélioration de l’offre de logements en Ile-de-France.
Se loger
Pour favoriser l’accès au logement des personnes démunies, la DRIHL met en place des passerelles entre les services en charge de l’hébergement et ceux qui gèrent l’accès des ménages au logement social ou aux dispositifs transitoires (Solibail par exemple).
Améliorer l'habitat
Pour améliorer la vie des ménages déjà logés, la DRIHL, dans ses unités territoriales, met en œuvre la rénovation urbaine. Elle agit pour faire de la réduction de la précarité énergétique une réalité. La DRIHL travaille également à la résorption de l’habitat indigne.
