ANEV was born on June 15, 1999.
Michel Grégoire, then deputy for the 3rd constituency of Drôme and agricultural technician, as well as around twenty parliamentarians from wine-growing constituencies, deplored the absence of a network of elected officials to represent the vine and wine territories.
Inspired by other associations of elected officials serving the territories, such as the National Association of Elected Officials of the Mountain (ANEM) or the Association of Rural Mayors of France (AMRF), these elected officials then decided to found the ANEV: the National Association of Vine and Wine Elected Officials.
Today, ANEV constitutes the network of elected wine officials, transcending all political and geographical divisions. It brings together several hundred members, including a large majority of municipalities and wine-growing intercommunities, as well as around a hundred national and European parliamentarians, regions and departments.
ANEV has been successfully mobilizing for 25 years now to promote and defend wine-growing territories. Associated with numerous struggles in the wine world, it positions itself as a space for reflection on the place of wine in our society. In recent years, it has demonstrated its usefulness in obtaining significant victories for vines, wine and their territories.

L’ANEV est née le 15 juin 1999.
Michel Grégoire, alors député de la 3ème circonscription de la Drôme et technicien agricole, ainsi qu’une vingtaine de parlementaires de circonscriptions viticoles, déploraient l’absence d’un réseau d’élus pour représenter les territoires de la vigne et du vin.
S’inspirant d’autres associations d’élus au service des territoires, comme l’Association Nationale des Elus de la Montagne (ANEM) ou l’Association des Maires Ruraux de France (AMRF), ces élus ont alors décidé de fonder l’ANEV : l’Association Nationale des Élus de la Vigne et du Vin.
Aujourd’hui, l’ANEV constitue le réseau des élus du vin, dépassant tous clivages politiques et géographiques. Elle regroupe plusieurs centaines d’adhérents, dont une grande majorité de communes et d’intercommunalités viticoles, ainsi qu’une centaine de parlementaires nationaux et européens, des régions et des départements.
Cela fait donc désormais 25 ans que l’ANEV se mobilise avec succès pour valoriser et défendre les territoires viticoles. Associée à de nombreux combats du monde vitivinicole, elle se positionne comme un espace de réflexion sur la place du vin dans notre société. Au cours de ces dernières années, elle a fait preuve de son utilité pour obtenir des victoires significatives pour la vigne, le vin et leurs territoires.
