Xdrop encapsulates living cells and reactive molecules in highly stable double-emulsion droplets that act as microenvironments for rapid cell–cell and cell–molecule interactions during incubation. The droplets are suitable for flow cytometry and sorting.
Xdrop Sort can both generate and sort double-emulsion droplets in a user-friendly workflow that does not require any experience with fluorescence-based cell sorters.
The limited volume forces fast interactions and causes secreted substances to quickly build up to detectable levels, meaning shorter screening times. The separation of the cell population into droplets containing single cells with no crosstalk means you get highly accurate, single-cell resolution results of the heterogeneous activity or potency of the cells rather than an averaged readout that hides critical information.
