    A principios del 2013 se conformó la Sociedad Peruana de Hidrocarburos, su actual presidente es Felipe Cantuarias. Hoy, la SPH cuenta con 10 miembros. La SPH surge a propósito de la voluntad de un grupo de empresas petroleras de crear una institución especializada en hidrocarburos que:

    - Trabaje de la mano con el Ministerio de Energía y Minas y otras autoridades del sector para viabilizar el desarrollo de la industria petrolera.

    - Genere investigaciones y estudios sobre la industria hidrocarburífera.

    - Difunda el respeto de las empresas por el medio ambiente, ya que trabajan con tecnología internacional y realizando transferencias tecnológicas al Perú.
