A think-and-do-tank with a mission to mobilize the law
and lawyers for climate action.

We are (former) business lawyers dedicated to combating climate change by all available means.

Our efforts typically take the shape of research projects, advocacy initiatives and expert appointments related to climate law. This includes advising on international law and national legislation aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and court processes aimed at holding states and corporations accountable. Because climate change extends into virtually all legal domains – from public procurement and administration to insurance, transactions, banking, and finance – our work does, too.

​A lot of our time is spent engaging and enabling other lawyers to play a role in the fight against climate change. Like John Kerry, we believe that all lawyers are front-line workers in the fight against climate change: some draft and implement laws and regulations that reduce emissions, others guide investors and businesses toward a low-carbon future. Still others make sure that democracy, human rights and the rule of law are protected in the rapid transition.
