Climate goals alone do not guarantee success; concrete measures are needed to achieve them. This is where the project sets out to show ways through the complex detailed questions of the energy transition: Ariadne researches energy transition strategies and their systemic effects as well as sectoral interactions. Ariadne researches policy instruments to achieve climate goals efficiently and in a socially balanced manner. And Ariadne researches what governance and institutions are needed to create effective climate protection.
The project specifically addresses decision-making problems in politics, but also initiates debates with politicians, stakeholders and citizens. Because the energy transition can only succeed through a shared learning process. In order to better understand the impact of various political instruments and to be able to develop socially viable strategies, representatives from politics and business as well as from the general public are actively involved in the Ariadne project right from the start.
The Ariadne project is developing targeted measures and options for politics. Findings and results from the Ariadne project will be made available throughout its entire duration, for example in the form of policy briefs, topic dossiers, background papers, visualizations and interactive applications.

Und Ariadne erforscht welche Governance und welche Institutionen es braucht, um einen effektiven Klimaschutz zu gestalten.
Das Projekt geht gezielt auf Entscheidungsprobleme der Politik ein, stößt aber auch Debatten an mit Politik, Stakeholdern sowie Bürgerinnen und Bürgern. Denn die Energiewende kann nur in einem gemeinsamen Lernprozess gelingen. Um die Wirkung verschiedener Politikinstrumente besser zu verstehen und gesellschaftlich tragfähige Strategien entwickeln zu können werden deshalb im Projekt Ariadne von Anfang an sowohl Vertreterinnen und Vertreter aus Politik und Wirtschaft als auch aus der breiten Öffentlichkeit aktiv eingebunden.
So erarbeitet das Projekt Ariadne zielführende Maßnahmen und Optionen für die Politik. Erkenntnisse und Ergebnisse des Projekts Ariadne werden über die gesamte Laufzeit bereitgestellt, etwa in Form von Policy Briefs, Themendossiers, Hintergrundpapieren, Visualisierungen und interaktiven Anwendungen.
