Biomedical Research Center
The Institut Cochin is a research center under the joint administrative supervision of Inserm (U1016), CNRS (UMR 8104) and Paris Cité University (UMR-S1016). The Institute hosts around 650 researchers, clinicians, teacher-researchers, technical and administrative engineers, postdoctoral fellows, doctoral students, and trainees. It has 41 teams and ten technological platforms. Together, we share the objective to advance knowledge of the biological mechanisms controlling physiological and pathological situations in humans. The main lines of research of the Institute are cancer, immunology, endocrinology-metabolism, microbiology, and genetic and cellular plasticity. Research is carried out on the campus of the Cochin-Port-Royal Hospital, within 4 buildings (Méchain, Gustave Roussy, Faculty, Cassini).Original language

L’Institut Cochin est un Centre de Recherche placé sous la co-tutelle administrative de l’Inserm (U1016), du CNRS (UMR 8104) et d’Université Paris Cité (UMR-S1016).
L’Institut rassemble environ 650 chercheurs, enseignants-chercheurs, hospitalo-universitaires, agents techniques (ITA), doctorants, stagiaires ; il accueille 41 équipes labellisées par les tutelles et une dizaine de plates-formes technologiques, au service de ses équipes, ainsi que de l’ensemble des équipes de l’Université et d’équipes extérieures.
Tous ensemble, nous avons le même objectif, faire progresser les connaissances sur les mécanismes biologiques contrôlant les situations physiologiques et pathologiques chez l'homme. Les axes forts de recherche de l’Institut sont le cancer, l‘immunologie , l’endocrinologie-métabolisme, la microbiologie et la plasticité génétique et cellulaire.
L’activité de l’Institut est menée sur le campus de l’Hôpital Cochin-Port-Royal, au sein de 4 bâtiments (Méchain, Gustave Roussy, Faculté, Cassini), l’ensemble représentant environ 16 000 m2.
