We are the trade association of the video game industry in Italy. We give an identity and a common voice to the sector and address issues of shared interest with a unitary approach.
The Association was founded in the early 2000s. Originally our members were mainly multinationals in the sector based in Italy. Since 2011, with the birth of numerous video game development studios in our country too, we have expanded our membership base to include Italian companies that produce video games, which today represent the large majority of our members.
We currently bring together around 90 members who include video game console manufacturers, multinational video game publishers, Italian video game developers and esports sector operators, as teams and organizers of dedicated events.
At an international level, IIDEA has been a member of the European trade association ISFE (Interactive Software Federation of Europe) based in Brussels since 2002 and has been a member of its Board of Directors since 2005. IIDEA is also a member of the PEGI Management Board, a video game classification system that helps parents make informed choices when purchasing.
We are an agile, streamlined and results-oriented Association. Our way of working is very pragmatic and is based on the constant involvement of our members, in order to ensure that our action is always in step with the constant evolution of the sector. Siamo l'Associazione di categoria dell’industria dei videogiochi in Italia. Diamo identità e voce comune al settore e indirizziamo con un approccio unitario i temi di interesse condiviso.
L’Associazione è stata fondata agli inizi degli anni 2000. In origine i nostri soci erano principalmente multinazionali del settore con sede in Italia. Dal 2011, con la nascita di numerosi studi di sviluppo di videogiochi anche nel nostro paese, abbiamo allargato la nostra base associativa alle imprese italiane che producono videogiochi, che oggi rappresentano la larga maggioranza dei nostri soci.
Attualmente riuniamo circa 90 soci che comprendono produttori di console per videogiochi, editori multinazionali di videogiochi, sviluppatori italiani di videogiochi e operatori del settore esports, come team e organizzatori di eventi dedicati.
A livello internazionale IIDEA aderisce dal 2002 all'Associazione di categoria europea ISFE (Interactive Software Federation of Europe) con sede a Bruxelles e dal 2005 è membro del Board of Directors della medesima. IIDEA è inoltre membro del Management Board del PEGI, sistema di classificazione dei videogiochi che aiuta i genitori a compiere scelte consapevoli durante l’acquisto.
Siamo un’Associazione agile, snella e orientata al risultato. Il nostro modo di lavorare è molto pragmatico e si basa sul costante coinvolgimento dei nostri soci, in modo da assicurare che la nostra azione sia sempre al passo con la costante evoluzione del settore. I nostri soci sono al centro di qualsiasi scelta e azione dell'Associazione.
