Die Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl ist die Stimme der Stahlindustrie in Deutschland, die sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, bis 2045 klimaneutral zu produzieren – und damit ein Drittel der gesamten industriellen Treibhausgasemissionen unseres Landes einzusparen.
Der Verband mit Hauptsitz in Berlin macht sich für einen politischen Rahmen stark, der einen wirtschaftlich starken und zugleich klimaneutralen Stahlstandort ermöglicht. Dazu investieren unsere Mitgliedsunternehmen intensiv in innovative Techniken - und dazu brauchen sie flankierende politische Maßnahmen. Denn der Umbau unserer Industrie zur Klimaneutralität ist nicht mal ebenso im laufenden Betrieb zu erledigen. Diese Transformation ist der größte Umbau seit der Industrialisierung, den die Unternehmen stemmen müssen.
Und es lohnt sich! Denn wir sichern 4 Millionen Arbeitsplätze in den stahlintensiven Branchen und sind wesentlich für die gesamtwirtschaftliche Resilienz unseres Landes. Mit etwa 38 Mio. Tonnen pro Jahr weist Deutschland die größte Stahlproduktion Europas und die siebtgrößte der Welt auf.
