L’ENSIM, qui a accueilli sa première promotion en Septembre 1996 est une école d’ingénieurs avec cycle préparatoire intégré et recrutement en 1ère année du cycle d’ingénieur. Elle dispose d’un bâtiment de 5400 m2 au sein du campus de l’Université du Mans qui accueille 8000 étudiants.
