L’Association des Maires et des Présidents d’Intercommunalité d’Ille-et-Vilaine regroupe 333 communes et est présidée par Pierre Breteau.

- Étudier les questions administratives, juridiques, techniques, financières relevant de l’administration communale ou intercommunale
- Créer un espace de discussion pour les élus afin qu’ils échangent sur leurs activités et leurs expériences sur la défense des droits et intérêts dont ils ont la garde
- Mener à bien l’étude de toutes les questions concernant l’administration des communes et leurs rapports avec les pouvoirs publics
- Créer et développer des liens de solidarité entre toutes les parties prenantes, indispensables à une action municipale fructueuse
- Se porter partie civile dans des actions pénales engagées à l’initiative de membres maltraités ou diffamés
