France Mobilité Biogaz, à l'époque l'AFGNV (Association Française du Gaz Naturel Véhicule) a été créée, en 1994, à l’initiative du Secrétariat d'Etat à l’Industrie et de Gaz de France. L’Association mobilise les acteurs publics, économiques et industriels pour accompagner le développement de l'usage du biogaz carburant en France au bénéfice d’une mobilité durable et compétitive. Aujourd’hui, nous représentons une filière industrielle de premier plan qui réunit des constructeurs de véhicules, des industriels de différents secteurs, des centres de recherche et développement ainsi que des entreprises et des collectivités.
Le rôle de l’Association est de représenter la filière auprès des pouvoirs publics, de mobiliser les énergies et savoir-faire de ses adhérents pour en accroitre, sans cesse, la performance et enfin, de la positionner à sa juste place dans l’ambitieux chantier de la transition énergétique pour une croissance verte. Le biogaz, est positionné comme un carburant très complémentaire à l’électricité en particulier dans le domaine du véhicule industriel.
